Klaviyo Alternative — CRM Sync

Klaviyo alternative

Looking past Klaviyo? Keep the sends. Move the record.

Most Shopify stores run Klaviyo, and the sends work. What drives the search for a Klaviyo alternative is everything around the sends: per-profile pricing where the list grows and the bill grows — including profiles you can't even email anymore — consent stored as a yes/no flag with no timestamp or provenance, and segment syncs on a schedule, so an opt-out can still get the next send because the batch hasn't run.

CRM Sync takes the other path: own the record, and let Klaviyo consume it. Consent-first customer data infrastructure on your Shopify, Xano, and BigQuery — the profile, the consent event, and the revenue signal live in systems that are already yours; the ESP becomes one more consumer of the consent gate instead of the place your customer lives.

  Klaviyo CRM Sync
What it is An email/SMS platform you subscribe to A build you own — consent-first data infrastructure on your stack
Your data Profiles live in Klaviyo; CSV export to leave Never leaves your Shopify + Xano + BigQuery
Pricing Per profile — the list grows, the bill grows Flat published prices — the catalog is the price list
Consent shape A flag: accepts marketing, yes/no — no timestamp, no method, no provenance Consent Mode v2 signals with timestamp, method, and audit trail — enforced at the infrastructure gate
Sync model Scheduled (hourly/daily) — opt-outs can lag a send cycle Real-time — consent enforced in the same request
Evidence ledger — Omnibus pricing · firmware/SBOM · consent No One ledger: Omnibus price evidence, firmware/SBOM records, and Consent Mode v2 — logged together
Geo-dimensioned evidence Profile location filters for sends — no geo on the record itself Every price and claim event carries ISO country, currency, language, and location — per-market evidence, not a segment filter
Agent-addressable (UCP) No Yes — publishes agent-eligible offers to the Universal Commerce Protocol
If you leave Export lists, rebuild flows, lose history Nothing to leave — the build was yours on day one

The part no martech tool offers

No martech tool logs Omnibus price evidence, firmware/SBOM records, and Consent Mode v2 together. CRM Sync does — one ledger where the price you claimed, the software you shipped, and the consent you held are recorded with timestamps, per market, in systems you own. That is the unique offer: not a better CRM, but the evidence plane none of them have.

The banner most enterprises run is still tuned for the page-view era. UA-generation CMP deployments — the OneTrust banner wired up years ago — record a page-view consent and stop there, and household-name enterprises are still running them because nobody owns the update — these are the same organizations whose UA→GA4 migrations became multi-year programs that broke reporting on the way. An org that can't move its own analytics tag without disintegrating is not going to move consent on its own. The core problem isn't the banner: they have no place to put or log real-time data — no ledger for an event to land in — and the consulting teams keep selling them UA-shaped, page-view software, so the gap renews itself with every engagement. This is where the AI component actually works: it folds into the tools already running — nothing ripped out, the ledger installed beside them — and then upgrades the organization to more efficient, easier-to-use data management from there. But AI predictive audiences explicitly require Consent Mode v2: no v2 signals, no modeling, no predictive audiences — and no defensible record. Most orgs treat CMv2 as optional. Then they're surprised when they get sued. The ones that treat it as infrastructure never have that day.

The Hotel California problem

The painful part isn't the sends — it's realizing later that you can never leave. The profile history, the flows, the engagement data all accumulate inside the vendor, and the exit is a CSV that loses most of it. The bridge is going to be needed either way — an AI tool that mirrors the vendor's data into systems you own while the sends keep working. Better to install the bridge on day one than to discover you need it on the day you want out.

Keep Klaviyo, or leave it — the rail is the same

CRMs and ESPs weren't built to include consent in real time. You will need to update or migrate — CRM Sync does both: run it beside Klaviyo with the record in your hands, or migrate off entirely on your own timeline. The migration rail is CRM → Shopify → GA4 / UCP — three stages, no big-bang.
